Tiffany + Drew, A Winter Wedding

The doors opened and every guest stood to their feet as Tiffany walked into the room. The barn was glowing with sparkly lights and filled with some of their closest friends and family.  Her mother walked her down the isle, where at the end stood the sweet groom, and upon seeing his bride for the first time that day, tears came to his eyes. She is beautiful! Tiffany laid a rose down on a seat at the front to honor her father, and as her mother gave her away she and Drew clasped each other's hands.

The preacher talked about love and recited scripture as the rest of the room was silent. Then came the rings.... Drew slipped the band onto Tiffany's finger as he repeated his vows, but as Tiffany's turn came she looked down at the adorable flower girl... and there was no groom's band to be found! The flower girl didn't have it, the bridesmaids didn't have it, no one knew where it was. In between signals to the back of the room to look for the ring, the wedding party started giggling, then laughing, until the whole room became aware of the situation and tried to hold back their own laughter. Eventually Drew's band was found and the ceremony went on, but it was not without a few extra smiles at that point. :) The vows were sealed with a kiss, and Tiffany and Drew were declared husband and wife!

As with every wedding, there were things that didn't quite go as planned this December day. But from the missing wedding ring to the tent outside blowing over due to the crazy wind, Tiffany and Drew kept such big smiles on their faces all day long. I love that they were able to laugh about things and just enjoy this day of celebration!

Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your sweet day, Drew and Tiffany! I hope through all of life's surprises you never stop laughing together.  :)

Seth + Mykaela Wedding

Seth & Mykaela's wedding couldn't have been more perfect. The weather was lovely, especially for November, and the blue skies just made the orange leaves glow so brightly in the background. Even greater than the weather though, was the atmosphere of love, friendliness, and family felt as soon as we arrived. The wedding party was quick to help in any way we needed them to, and continually asked if they could do anything for us, while the bride & groom themselves acted as if we were more like friends than vendors. I think that just speaks so much about who this couple is!

Some of my favorite parts of the day would have to include the first look-- Seth completely lit up when he saw Mykaela, and couldn't stop saying, "Dannnnnng!" :) (Mykaela told me later that he actually helped pick out her dress, while flipping through a magazine he pointed that one out to her. She didn't know if it would be the one or not until she tried it on at the bridal shop, and it turned out to be the favorite!) Then I absolutely loved the grandmothers who acted as flower girls for the ceremony. How precious were they? The worship song as the couple tied the unity knot during the ceremony, and when Seth tried to kiss Mykaela before the officiant gave permission and everyone had to laugh.... Finally, I loved catching the little glances they stole at each other on the dance floor or across the room at the reception. They just couldn't take their eyes off each other. :)

Seth and Mykaela, I hope your marriage is long and full of happiness, and that it only gets better from here! Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your beautiful day. <3

Julie + Tom, Wedding Chapel I Do's

Julie and Tom came all the way from Chicago to get married in Jackson, TN, and I was so honored they asked us to be their photographers!
They wanted a fun, laid-back wedding day, focused on family and the love they have for each other. It rained quite a bit at the beginning, but Julie and Tom just had to laugh-- it rained the day he proposed and it came a downpour for their engagement pictures, so it was only appropriate that it would rain on their wedding day as well. :) Their families gathered in the little Tulip Tree Chapel and clapped as this sweet couple was announced husband and wife, and walked out of the building to gorgeous sunshine. (I guess it had to rain just enough to carry on the tradition!) We took a few formal pictures, cut some cake and danced, and then headed off to Coyote Blues, where they had a fun, relaxing time just being together. That is when the party started, with the little ones running from table to table playing games, and the "bigger ones" laughing and toasting and catching up with each other.

Congratulations Julie and Tom! Thanks so much for asking us to capture your sweet day!
