Alex + Matthew, Engagement

Alex and Matthew are one of our couples getting married in 2018, and after their engagement session I am even more excited to photograph their wedding. They were so sweet and full of happiness, their smiles genuine and natural. We took a few pictures downtown Martin, and then we headed to Alex's family's home. Not only is it lovely there, but the dock overlooking the pond is where Matthew proposed to Alex on a cold, rainy evening. We got a few pictures there, of course, and elsewhere around their yard-- even in the pasture where a few cows gave us a little snort and curious stare. :) We ended the session with pictures under the beautiful, red and orange sunset, the best possible way to end a session in my opinion. I hope we are equally blessed with that weather come next March!

Michelle + Jesse, Engagement

Michelle and I were roommates in college together and now we are still very good friends. Some of my clients might even recognize her as being one of my second photographers at a few of our weddings. :) We share a love for coffee, talk about our dogs like they are our kids, and are fellow introverts. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding, and I was honored a little bit ago to take some engagement photos for her and her fiancé, Jesse. I had heard quite a bit about him, but I didn't get to meet him until the day they drove here from Nashville for their engagement session. I had told Michelle I couldn't give my blessing until I met him and made sure he was good for her, but at the end of the day, as I gave her a hug goodbye, I told her I approved. I can tell he makes her happy, and that she is herself around him-- always a good sign!  I hope Jesse knows what a great girl he has, but I am pretty sure that's why he put a ring on it. ;)

Tori + Will, Engagement

This sweet couple traveled a few hours here not just once, but twice for their engagement pictures! The first time the forecast showed a 50% chance of rain, so after talking with them we decided to chance it, and it poured and poured about half of that day. Thankfully, Will and Tori were able to make another trip here a few weeks later, and it was a gorgeous day that time. :) We had a wonderful session, and it made me so excited about their wedding next year! They were absolutely precious.
